OPD Weekly Update

12/13/2013 16:26

Hi,

The map for the past week:

https://www.arcgis.com/apps/OnePane/basicviewer/index.html?appid=e04c5d5a0f4247b2a81c20256d0db312

(note: a commercial burg at new construction on 7th Ave SW is mapping on the wrong side of town – online maps haven’t caught up with the new address yet!)

Notable Trends:

  • New residential burglaries on the Westside, including two on Giles. Officers saturated the area on Wednesday and are looking at problem locations/associated people.

Other Items:

  • November review:
    • Commercial burglaries high again; 11 of 17 were to storage facilities or sheds
    • Lilly Rd burglaries – no leads, no new activity
    • SE burglaries – decline in numbers
    • Downtown assaults and domestic violence assaults were a focus
    • Part 1 Violent crime clearance rates are twice the national average, which pleases Chief Roberts. Although my comments generally focus on property crime trends and prevention, crimes against persons are and will continue to be the first priority.

Have a good week!

Amy
