Community Garden and Gleaning Project
The Southwest Olympia Neighborhood Association (SWONA) is proud to support a growing network of community garden boxes and gleaning sites throughout our neighborhood. This grassroots project is a collaborative effort to build food resilience, reduce waste, and connect neighbors through shared resources and green spaces.
We invite you to explore the interactive map below to discover what’s growing near you:

Why This Matters
These gardens and gleaning sites are part of SWONA’s broader vision to foster food equity, neighbor-to-neighbor connection, and sustainability at the local level. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just curious about what’s growing in your area, this is a living project built by and for our community.

SWONA’s Community Garden and Gleaning Projects work together to increase access to fresh, local food—and you can sign up for one or both!
The Community Garden Project is for anyone interested in helping grow food with neighbors—whether you want to host a garden site, plant and maintain beds, donate materials, or help build garden boxes. We’re also partnering with the West Central Park Neighborhood Center (WCPNC) to support their existing community garden beds and expand access to fresh produce through shared volunteer support and collaboration.
The Gleaning Project is for neighbors who want to donate extra fruit from their trees or volunteer to help pick fruit that might otherwise go to waste. All harvested produce will be shared locally with those who can use it.
Whether you’re planting, harvesting, or helping share extra produce—there’s a way to get involved!
